Why Specialized Cleaning is Necessary?
Collected PET bottles are heavily contaminated with items such as labels, caps (PP/PE), adhesive residues, sand, and organic waste. Without an intensive, multi-step cleaning process, it is impossible to produce rPET (recycled PET) that meets the high standards of the industry, especially for applications such as new bottles or textile fibers.

Bale Breaker: The First Step
The tightly compressed bales of PET bottles are opened up. This ensures a constant, loose stream of material that can be efficiently processed by the rest of the line.
Shredder or Granulator: Effective Reduction
The entire bottles are ground into uniform pieces, known as “flakes.” This increases the surface area, which is essential for a deep and thorough cleaning in the following steps.
Drossing Zinc Separation: Purity through Density
In a large water basin, the heavier PET flakes sink to the bottom, while lighter materials such as caps and rings (PP/PE) remain floating and are skimmed off. A crucial step for purity.
Hot Water: Deep Cleaning
The flakes undergo an intensive wash with hot water and cleaning agents. This process completely dissolves stubborn adhesive residues, grease, and other dirt.
Friction Water & Rinse: Friction and Finishing
Mechanical friction scrubs the last traces of contamination from the flakes, followed by multiple rinse cycles that remove all cleaning agents and loosened dirt.
Drying Process: Moisture Removal
A combination of mechanical (centrifugal) and thermal (hot air) dryers reduces the moisture content to below 1%. This is crucial for the quality and storability of the flakes.
